I usually recommend a 54″ sash if you 1) want the tails to be longer 2) have a tall door or 3) have a wide wreath (like a boxwood) that takes up a lot of fabric to loop around. The 44″ is the standard size shown in most of these pictures. (The dusty blue sash with the sketch flag and the L is 54″ on a standard wreath.)
